Nearly all of the updates to Hedke Elementary School provided by a recent bond issue are complete and the result is a building worthy to hold the coveted name of Green School.

From windows to heating and cooling, the building's major energy-based components have all been redone. The district now saves more than $30,000 each year in energy costs.

Patch caught up with Hedke Principal Vince Porecca, who showed us the ins and outs of being a Green School.
