The Trenton Education Foundation Signature Event was a night that brought hundreds of people and thousands of dollars to the aid of Trenton Public Schools.

The event took place Wednesday night at Fratello's Restaurant in Trenton and event coordinator Mike McCullough said the evening was absolutely fabulous.

"It just goes to show, when people get behind a common vision, that projects can exceed expectations," McCullough said.

And exceed expectations it did. The night brought in a minimum of $43,000, but McCullough said the number would be closer to $50,000 after the night's silent auctions are taken into account.

McCullough had anticipated the event would bring in about $35,000, and was pleased to find out the goal was surpassed before the night was over.

The Trenton Business Association, Trenton Education Association, Trenton Firefighters, Trenton Police and many more made donations to the Trenton Education Foundation.

West Grange Pharmacy was the platinum sponsor for the evening.

The money raised will fund special class projects at Trenton Public Schools. School administrators, teachers and alumni can apply for funding by submitting an application to the Trenton Education Foundation.

For more information on applying for school funding contact Mike McCullough 734-671-0100 or McCulloughMik@aol.com.
