Ceremony for Trenton Wall of Fame Tonight

A ceremony for the Trenton Educational Foundation's Wall of Fame is scheduled for tonight at Trenton High School.

A dedication ceremony for the three inductees of the Trenton Educational Foundation Wall of Fame is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the main lobby at Trenton High School. Members of the Trenton Educational Foundation and Trenton Board of Education will be on site for the ceremony. A meeting for the foundation will follow the ceremony scheduled to end at 7 p.m.

Trenton Education Foundation Selects Grant Recipients

Classrooms across Trenton Public Schools stand to benefit from the Trenton Education Foundation.

Four classrooms in Trenton are set to receive a total of $4,388 for class projects from the Trenton Education Foundation (TEF). Allocation of the grants was approved at Monday's Trenton Board of Education meeting. Classrooms at Trenton High School, Boyd W. Arthurs Middle School and Jesse L. Anderson Elementary School received grants. There were 17 applications submitted for grants and members of the TEF selection committee picked the top four to receive grants. The grants are: Board President Dennis Bearden was on the selection committee and said he was glad to see so many applications and hopes to see even more next year. It was time to party for the sake of the children at Wednesday's Trenton Education Foundation Signature Event.

The Trenton Education Foundation Signature Event was a night that brought hundreds of people and thousands of dollars to the aid of Trenton Public Schools. The event took place Wednesday night at Fratello's Restaurant in Trenton and event coordinator Mike McCullough said the evening was absolutely fabulous. "It just goes to show, when people get behind a common vision, that projects can exceed expectations," McCullough said. And exceed expectations it did. The night brought in a minimum of $43,000, but McCullough said the number would be closer to $50,000 after the night's silent auctions are taken into account. McCullough had anticipated the event would bring in about $35,000, and was pleased to find out the goal was surpassed before the …
